Supplemental Health Insurance Plans

A health insurance supplement that will pay part of your deductible is a very low cost way to reduce your health insurance expenses and your health insurance premiums.

Florida health insurance supplemental plans come in all shapes and sizes.

Some are designed to just pay out for a hospitalization. Others will cover emergency rooms, office visits, surgical procedures and even testing.

The trick is to find the right balance of cost and benefits. You do not want to over insure or load up on benefits that are already taken care of by your regular health insurance plan.

The $29.91 Wonder (Just Got Better)

The most cost effective plan we have ever seen is available for less than thirty dollars a month. But, there is a catch for this plan.

You must be employed at least 30 hours a week and remain employed for 30 days after the plan begins (self-employed is fine). After that, it does not matter.

Benefits:

Remember that if you have a $2,500 health insurance deductible and were hospitalized, the health insurance plan would not pay a dime until you hit the $2,500 deductible.

But, with a plan like this in place, you would receive $1,560 ($2,560 with the rider) for a two day stay. You get paid even if you never meet your deductible.

Some of my clients decide that they want a really high deductible plan to save substantial amounts on their health insurance. They opt for a more robust health insurance supplement instead. That way, if something does happen, they get substantial assistance with their bill and still save money on the combined low premium and supplement premium.
