This plan has no work requirement and is completely guaranteed issue. No medical questions at all. The mini-medical plan works just like a major medical with doctor an Rx copays. The only difference is, it covers a maximum of $20,000 per year. With only a $100 deductible for the hospital, it too can be a good choice. Using Indemnity Plans Indemnity or Defined Benefit Plans are insurance plans that pay you fixed amounts based on a schedule of payments. For example, a plan might pay you $1,000 a day for each day you are hospitalized. Or, they might pay you $75 each time you went to the doctor for illness, up to a certain maximum number of visits. While, this is not as good as the unlimited coverage found with a regular health insurance plan, used properly, it could cover 95% of all hospitalizations. Guaranteed Issue Disability Insurance That's right, guaranteed issue disability insurance. If you are working, you can get up to $2,000 a month in own-occupation disability coverage. These plans are completely guaranteed issue. Disability insurance is very important and compliments your health insurance as an asset protection scheme. Pre-Existing Conditions If you have had coverage for the prior 12 months, all of your pre-existing conditions are covered from day one. If not, depending on how much prior coverage you have had, you might have to wait up to 12 months. But, the important point is that you will eventually get everything covered.
